Our Heritage
Founded in 1982, the Nevada Society of Scottish Clans is dedicated to celebrating and perpetuating the cultural heritage of Scotland and its people, including ancient customs, literature, music, games, history and dress.
The Society is based in Reno, and serves members in northern Nevada, northeastern California and beyond. Membership is not limited to people of Scottish decent. It’s open to those who share in the Society’s mission and goals.

CELEBRATING HERITAGE
Nevada Society of Scottish Clans
is dedicated to celebrating and perpetuating the cultural heritage of Scotland and its people, including ancient customs, literature, music, games, history and dress. The Society provides many opportunities for members to enjoy entertaining gatherings and events, including the renowned Robert Burns Celebration steeped in pageantry and tradition.
GOVERNANCE & SUPPORT
The Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a Board of Directors and supported by committees and members, who volunteer their time to ensure the Society remains viable, year after year. Membership dues and revenue from other services provide valuable operating funds.
ANCESTRY & ADVOCACY
The Society participates in Tartan Day at the Legislature to help recognize the monumental achievements and invaluable contributions made by Scottish Americans that have led to America’s preeminence in the fields of science, technology, medicine, government, politics, economics, architecture, literature, media and visual and performing arts. Recognition of these accomplishments is honored throughout the Society’s endeavors.

If you are curious about Scotland and its people, if bagpipes give you goosebumps or if you imagine yourself in a colorful tartan, the Society is for you! Membership is open to all who share in the Society’s mission and is not limited to people of Scottish descent.

Join our March Gathering at Kilts & Kegs, Official Launch Party of "Outlander" Irish Stout by The Brewer's Cabinet! This special event not only celebrates the introduction of this legendary brew, with roots dating back to 1677, but also supports the Northern Nevada Celtic Community – including Nevada Society of Scottish Clans and Sons & Daughters of Erin.
The Brewer's Cabinet Production Facility is located at 8565 White Fir Street in Reno.
